The Technological Sports Federation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, held the first ever Ukrainian Technological Sports Championship on August 16-17 in Kyiv, Ukraine. The event brought together over 150 participants from flight schools, Armed Forces units and veterans involved in adaptive sports.

During the opening ceremony, Minister of Youth and Sports Matvii Bidnyi emphasised:

«The first Ukrainian Technological Sports Championship is not just a competition. It brings together a community that our enemy truly fears and that is developing our country’s technological sector. This is more than a championship — it is the future of the Ukrainian army, technology and sport».

Participants competed in several categories:

  • FPV drone racing with payload — piloting tests in conditions close to combat;
  • NRK missions (semi-autonomous robotic systems) — robotics control;
  • Aviadrop — cargo delivery using UAVs;
  • Lasertag — tactical team games with modern training systems.

Artur Buligin, President of the Technological Sports Federation, highlighted:

«This championship is not just a competition, but a powerful tool for enhancing the country’s defence capabilities through the development of practical skills in working with modern technologies».

Parallel to the competition, an exhibition of Ukrainian defence developments was held, featuring unmanned aerial vehicles, robotic systems and the latest technological solutions. Guests had the opportunity to attend master classes, talk to experts from the defence and IT sectors, and try their hand at a new sport.

UMO UKRAINE also participated in the championship as the exclusive representative of Teledyne FLIR in Ukraine.

Our stand featured universal thermal imaging solutions for reconnaissance and strike unmanned and unmanned systems. In particular, cameras with a focal length of 2.3 mm to 18 mm and a viewing angle of 24° to 92°. They are ideal for strike FPV drones thanks to their more affordable price and thermal sensitivity of 60 microkelvins. FLIR thermal imaging modules that can be integrated into gimbals for reconnaissance UAVs of the aircraft and multirotor type were also presented.

The first Ukrainian Technological Sports Championship was an important event for the development of innovation, sports and the defence sector. Ukraine has once again proven that it is capable of setting trends in combining technology and sports, shaping a generation that is ready for modern challenges.
